The Lentil House
So called because when the owners of the house simply couldn’t decide on a colour scheme, Edward took three jars of lentils from their kitchen, spread them on the table and said, “There, those are the colours you want.”
About
While completing a Master’s degree in English literature in the 1970s, Edward Morrison began painting houses to pay for his academic adventures. After graduating with a degree that made him highly qualified for unemployment, he again turned to painting but this time with an eye to creating something beautiful in the city he came to love. Thus, Vancouver Painted Ladies was born. In almost every neighbourhood of the city, there are homes that bear the mark of his painstaking eye for detail, his sensitive use of colour and his genuine love for the older homes of Vancouver.
Today, with a talented crew of Millennials, Edward continues to bring his passion for creating beautiful houses to owners who long to retain or redefine the beauty and charm of their older homes.
